Merchandising Manager(intimate)


Nature and Scope:

  • Responsible for negotiating price and capacity with vendors for specific product line.
  • Liaison and execute product development with product design team and garment vendors and material suppliers.
  • Support garment vendors in addressing raw material supplier issues and work solution to ensure on time delivery.
  • Liaison and overseeing garment vendor all sorts of sample test runs (Salesman samples, TOP’s etc.).
  • Ensure Sourcing System is updated and issues followed through.
  • Ensure all the Sourcing Operational records are updated.

Principal Accountability:

  1. Supervise and motivate the team work against the processes that achieve operation results.
  2. Co-ordinate with management to solve operation problems, implement new programs, policies and procedures in order to optimize the effectiveness.
  3. Make timely decisions to solve departmental needs and employee related problems.
  4. Work with Design & Merchandising in US for new development and new style adoption.
  5. Base on the Design intend to propose workable options for counter/ prototype samples in order to meeting the target price.
  6. Facilitate Salesman Samples.
  7. Liaison raw materials development.
  8. Follow up/ negotiate pricing of costing package and participate in achieving target price and other product development requirements.
  9. Propose new procedure for process/ execution improvement.
  10. New contractors/ suppliers sourcing and vendor management.
  11. Maintain an updated contractor/ supplier list.
  12. Issue the award of new style to appropriate contractors within timely manner.
  13. Follow up the new style pipe materials projection and greige reservation tracking with planning team.
  14. Overseeing production and shipment process – Order allocation through One Source system, T&A calendar and WIP management, on time compliance approval execution.
  15. Ensure correct/ updated information/ documents provide to garment vendors – e.g. Color Grid, Tech Pack, BOM, Label Spec, MML/ Packaging Spec.
  16. Update Costing Grid and maintain bidding log book.
  17. Monitor color approval – lab-dips and strike-off status.
  18. Reserve capacity with raw material suppliers and garment vendors for newly adopted style/ new launch.
  19. Work/ negotiation the lead time with material suppliers and garment contractors for an acceptable production T&A against the target delivery.
  20. Manage changes on the POs at One Source system.
  21. Support special requests on maintaining supply services.
  22. Ensure liability process and accuracy. Monitor liability materials re-usage and final settlement.
  23. Maintain garment sample library management.
  24. Manage updated reporting to top management.
  25. Special project as assigned.

 Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • Education/Degrees:  High School or above.
  • 6-8 years of related experience with extensive knowledge in garment field.
  • Familiar with product development, pre-production flow and production control.
  • Good understanding of planning procedures.
  • Ability to do risk analysis and problem solving.
  • Good leadership/management skills, capable to supervise the subordinates, and strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Self-initiative, mature, responsible, high flexibility on changes, able to work under high pressure and willing to travel.
  • Must be fluent in English and Chinese
  • know product development and production, know how bra is made and a vast knowledge of a BOM, costing negotiation skills and raw materials
  • Having US market experience, if have knowledge on Europe market is an added value but not necessary
